WebP to JPG and AVIF to JPG use the browser’s decoder and a canvas JPEG. If this browser cannot decode AVIF, the page shows an error and does not send the file anywhere. Try Chrome. There is no encoder back to WebP or AVIF.
Email and CMS rejects are the other write-up: WebP and AVIF for the web. Office is the same JPG, different destination. Quality is a local encode, not a size guarantee. For a named KB cap after the slide is exported, use Compress.
Steps
- Confirm the file extension. WebP and AVIF are different tools.
- Open WebP to JPG or AVIF to JPG and choose the file. Decode stays in the tab.
- Download the JPG and insert that file into Word or PowerPoint, not the original.
- If the deck is still too large after export, compress the JPG toward the size you were given.
FAQ
Will this make a WebP smaller for the web?
No. The site only converts WebP and AVIF to JPG. It does not encode JPG to WebP or AVIF.
AVIF fails immediately.
The browser could not decode it. The file stays on disk. Chrome is the usual fix. The page does not upload the AVIF when decode fails.
Is an account required?
No. Convert does not use the background-removal quota.
