A transparent headshot for a website

A team page wants the person, not the office behind them. Remove background writes a transparent PNG in the browser. Hair, glasses, and earrings are the edges to check.

This is not the ID-photo guide. Forms that demand white or a millimetre size are ID and passport, and the passport tool still does not crop. A website can usually take the PNG as-is and let the page background show through.

ormbg resizes large frames toward 1024×1024. A full-body shot wasted on a face in the distance will look soft — crop to head and shoulders first. Quota: one 640 px try without an account, then 3 full-size removals a day when signed in. Pro lifts the daily cap and adds batch, still in the browser. Do not JPEG-compress the PNG if the site supports transparency.

Steps

  1. Crop to head and shoulders. Use JPEG, PNG, or WebP. Convert HEIC first.
  2. Run Remove background. The model download is not an upload of the portrait.
  3. Download the PNG and check hair and glasses.
  4. Upload that PNG to the site. Skip Compress unless the CMS rejected the file size and you have already flattened it.

FAQ

Will the site show a white box?

Only if you export JPEG or the CMS flattens PNG. The file you download is transparent.

Does the portrait get uploaded to LocalPix?

No. The cutout runs in the tab. Verify local.

Can I do a whole team in one click?

Batch is a Pro feature and still runs in the browser, one model, same 1024 limit. It is not a server queue.
