A resume photo that never gets uploaded here

A job form wants a small JPG of your face. That is a file-size job, and sometimes a cutout. It is not an official passport crop, and LocalPix will not paint the white background for you.

Start from a JPEG, PNG, or WebP. iPhone HEIC: convert first. If the room behind you is the problem, Remove background (ormbg, Apache-2.0) writes a transparent PNG. The first unpaid try is 640 px on the long side. A signed-in free account gets 3 full-size removals a day. Pro removes that daily cap. You still composite onto white or gray in your own editor if the form demands a flat color.

Passport photo does not size to a country’s millimetres. Crop to whatever the form printed. Then, if the flattened JPG is over the limit, compress toward that cap. Compressing the transparent PNG first throws away the alpha.

Steps

  1. Read the form: file type, maximum KB, and whether the backdrop must be plain.
  2. Convert HEIC to JPG if needed.
  3. Optional: remove the background, download the PNG, and composite the color yourself.
  4. Crop, then compress the flattened JPEG if the portal named a size.

FAQ

Will this make a 2×2 inch passport photo?

No. Passport photo is a placeholder and does not crop to an official size.

Does the headshot leave the device?

No. Cutout and JPEG search run in the tab. A model download is not your photo being uploaded. Verify local.

The PNG looks like a checkerboard.

That is transparency. The tool does not add white. Composite locally, then export a JPEG if the form rejects PNG.
