Remove the background from a logo

A single mark on a plain background is a cutout. ormbg runs in the browser and downloads a transparent PNG. It does not trace vectors, and it does not invent a white plate.

Crop tight before you run. The model sees the image at 1024×1024, so a tiny word in the corner of a large canvas goes soft. Hair-like strokes, outlined type, and glass are where the fringe shows up. Zoom the PNG before you drop it into a layout.

The first try without an account is 640 px on the long side, once per browser. Sign in for full size (3 a day) or use Pro for more. RMBG is not used. A product photo of a physical object is the other guide: product cutout. JPEG export later will flatten the alpha — see PNG to JPG only after you no longer need transparency.

Steps

  1. Export or crop the logo so the mark fills the frame. PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Not HEIC.
  2. Open Remove background and run ormbg. Weights download after you run, for an entitled session.
  3. Download the PNG and inspect thin strokes at 100% zoom.
  4. Keep the PNG. Do not compress it to JPEG if the layout needs transparency.

FAQ

Is the logo uploaded?

No. Inference stays in the tab. The network fetch is the ormbg weights for an entitled session, not a POST of your file.

Can I get an SVG?

No. The result is a transparent PNG from a bitmap model, not a vector trace.

The letters have a halo.

ormbg is a photo cutout. Outlined type and hairline rules are a weak case. Start from a tighter crop, or keep the original if the halo is worse than the old background.
